Assistant Position (2024-2025 School Year) - Applications due as soon as possible (looking to train immediately!)
We have a wonderful home day care, in Amherst MA. We are a full member of WECAN, Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. We are also licensed by EEC, Early Education and Care, in Massachusetts. We have been open for 18 years. We are a play based, Waldorf and RIE program, serving six-eight children from ten months to three years old. We are open from September through the second week in June, Mondays through Thursdays. Celia Riahi is the owner and lead teacher. She runs the program along with her wife, Barbara Audley. Celia is a longtime, Master Waldorf Early Childhood teacher. She has worked for 22 years in two Waldorf Schools and run two Family Day Cares, one in NYC, for 10 years, when her daughter was little, and one currently in Amherst, MA. Barbara is a long-time student of Anthroposophy and holds a diploma in Formative Speech from the Goetheanum.
This is a contract position, September 2024 through mid-June 2025. Salary is based on $20/hr. but will be paid as a salary, monthly for ten months, September-June.

The Cottage Garden is a unique home-based Waldorf Day Care program, licensed for up to ten children. We offer a safe, loving environment filled with simple handmade toys and developmentally appropriate activities, all created to enhance the young child’s innate sense of learning through imitation. Our day is a balance of structure and free play. The rhythm of our daily activities offers a warm, and well-guided first playgroup experience for your pre-school child—a wonderful transition between home and school. We will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, from September—June. Tuition and Supply Fee includes 2 hot, organic, vegetarian meals and 1 snack daily plus; diapers, laundry etc. We invite you to browse our website and be in touch with us if you have any questions.
